Cap Camarat lighthouse, at Ramatuelle, was built between 1829 and 1832 to the south of Saint-Tropez cape. It is a square tower with smooth stonework above a square building. It is the second highest lighthouse in France because of the height of its light.

Cape Camarat lighthouse, at Ramatuelle, was built between 1829 and 1832 south of Saint-Tropez cape and has a square tower with smooth maconary above its square shaped housing base.

It is the second lighthouse in France to have this height of light installation.

The lighthouse is next door to Camarat signal station, managed by the French Navy, and manned by 24h/24 watch guard.

At the signaling site, ASN transmitting station can also be found. (Selective numerical calling system). It is a global distress system for safety at sea.

The lighthouse, is managed by the French equivalent of Trinity House ( les Phares et Balises ) and operated remotely by the control center at Porquerolles.
